Anytime we leave it to the government, a massive chunk of the resources (aka money) is wasted in paperwork and red tape. If we want to make a difference, we need to TRULY act "in my name" by making the change ourselves. Research the various NPOs to learn which are most effective and least wasteful and make a contribution to them. Because history has PROVEN that giving our dollars to our governments to get it done is about the least effective way possible to help.
